Melbourne Regatta Blessing of the Fleet

The Melbourne Regatta and Blessing of the Fleet celebrates Melbourne Day on Sunday, August 30th.

Celebrate Melbourne’s waterways with an assembly of vessels, a formal blessing of the fleet and commemorate Melbourne Day with an re-enactment of the first settlers arrival.

This event recognises the spiritual significance of all who sail upon the seas.

Victoria Harbour will come alive with bands, street performers and local restaurants offering specials.

Witness a visual extravaganza as a flotilla of vessels attend Blessing and perform a Sail By with flares, whistles, pipe bands and a display of water cannons from emergency service vessels on the harbour.

The day will continue with cruises of Melbourne’s waterways – bookings required.

The Mission to Seafarers Victoria, caring for the welfare of seafarers, will be a beneficiary of this event.
