By bus

The Sky Bus travels directly between the airport and the Southern Cross Station every 10 - 15 minutes 7 days per week.

Regional and interstate bus services also arrive daily into Southern Cross Station.

Car Parking facilities are situated at both the east and northern ends of NewQuay.

Rates start at $2 per hour and if you visit for lunch during July and August, car parking is FREE!  Between 12noon and 3pm, Monday to Friday, car parking is FREE in the eastern car park (cnr. Docklands Drive and Harbour Esplanade).

NB: This offer does not apply to Waterfront City car parking.

Being located on the water’s edge at Victoria Harbour, means that NewQuay is easily reached by a number of Melbourne's ferry services or private boat.  

Yarra River Shuttle Service
The Yarra River Shuttle Service picks up and drops off at a number of Melbourne's key attractions and waterfront locations including:

  • Southgate
  • Melbourne Aquarium
  • Crown Entertainment Complex
  • Melbourne Exhibition Centre
  • Yarra’s Edge
  • Victoria Harbour

The shuttle will run every 30 minutes on weekends and public holidays from 3 November 2007 until 6 April 2008 from 10.00 am to 8.00 pm.

The Docklands area is a mecca for walking and bike-riding enthusiasts.  Aside from strolling the picturesque promenade, there are pedestrian linkages between NewQuay and the Melbourne CBD via Collins Street, La Trobe Street and the Bourke Street Pedestrian Bridge (via Southern Cross Station).  On average it is a 5-minute walk to Spencer Street and 15-minute walk to the Bourke Street Mall.

NewQuay is also located within all of Melbourne’s major bike paths. Select a route along the Yarra River, Beach Road, Footscray Road, Harbour Esplanade or any other Melbourne bike paths networked through the CDB and Docklands including:

  • Westgate Park and Port Melbourne via Lorimer Street
  • Maribyrnong River Parklands and Footscray via the Footscray Road trail
  • City and eastern suburbs via the Capital City trail along the south bank of the Yarra River via Charles Grimes Bridge and Webb Bridge
  • Royal Park via the Capital City Trail along Moonee Ponds Creek

The Webb Bridge via Docklands Park also provides a pedestrian and bicycle connection across the Yarra River and around to the Melbourne Exhibition Centre and Crown Casino.
