Future Plans

Melbourne Docklands is the largest urban renewal project to date in Australia. 

Bringing the Docklands dream alive, future plans will ensure that it fast becomes Melbourne's hottest lifestyle and entertainment precinct and one of the world's greatest urban domains.

Since its official opening in late 2002, NewQuay is changing the way Melbourne looks and the way people look at Melbourne - to finally have a harbourside location.

On completion, the NewQuay precinct will include:

• Up to 2,000 residential units
• Approximately 20,000 sqm of mixed use space
  (including shops, restaurants and office suites)
• A workplace for an estimated 5,000 people
• Approximately 95,000 sqm of commercial space
• Up to 120 marina berths
• A destination for an estimated 2 million visitors per year
